Driven by the dual catalysts of building energy efficiency and the "dual carbon" policy, the redispersible polymer powder (RDP) industry is entering a golden age of structural upgrading and global competitiveness enhancement, becoming a core growth pole in the field of green building materials.

Policies empower and lay a solid foundation for development. The "14th Five-Year Plan for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Development" promotes the application of green building materials to a proportion of 70%, and the new version of the standard reduces the VOC limit by 20%, forcing the industry to shift towards high-end development. By 2025, the domestic market share of high-end RDP has reached 63.8%, and the dependence on imports has significantly decreased. East China leads the country with a production capacity share of 56.3%.
Technological innovation breaks through performance boundaries. Leading enterprises focus on the research and development of low VOC and high weather resistance products. The elongation at break of acrylate-modified RDP has exceeded 280%. Wanhua Chemical's core-shell structure products can maintain 92% film integrity even at -5℃. The laboratory conversion rate of bio-based latex powder has reached 30%, and the carbon footprint has been reduced to a minimum of 1.35 tons of CO₂e per ton, meeting the environmental protection requirements of the European Union. Smart manufacturing has driven a 15% reduction in unit energy consumption, and the digital coverage rate of new projects in the western region has exceeded 83%.
Market demand is blooming in various sectors. The construction sector remains the core, with external wall insulation and tile adhesive consumption accounting for over 70%, and urban renewal projects driving a year-on-year increase of 18.3% in consumption. The non-construction sector has expanded to include ceramics, textiles, and other scenarios, with exports increasing by 23.5% year-on-year, and Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets continue to expand. Leading enterprises have achieved stable gross profit margins of 18%-22% through vertical integration, and industry concentration, as measured by CR5, has risen to 48.2%.
Looking ahead, driven by prefabricated construction and global demand for energy conservation, the market size is expected to exceed 1.5 million tons by 2030, with China continuing to lead the global industry development.
